Laurie | | I'd like to know, for those of you in the wholesale/retail business, what do you think is an acceptable profit margin for distributors to make?

I think it depends on the product. I make a 50% profit on the jewelry that I sell but my product is cheaper or camparable to ther products like mine.
I just got a sales pitch from a company who's profit margin is less than mine but I could buy the product for much cheaper elsewhere.
These direct sales companies make a lot of money so I think they more they pass on to their distributors the better.
Things like cars and trips and other incentives are also a great way for a compnay to pass on their profit and reward hard workers.
I think you should compare companies and find one that you would feel good about selling because then the money will flow to you no matter what the profit margin.
